Public library cardSince September 2013, Talent Acquisition & Development, HR, has offered York employees access to the online learning library through a license loan program, providing over 500 employees with access to high-quality online learning courses for two weeks at a time.

With a public library card employees can have just-in-time access to the online learning library whenever they need it, as well as access to other online library resources such as e-book and e-magazine collections, language learning, and even instructor-led online courses. We strongly encourage all York employees to join a public library as part of their professional development toolkit.

Library systems that offer include Brampton, Mississauga, Pickering, Richmond Hill, Toronto and Whitchurch-Stouffville. Many libraries offer free access to residents of neighbouring municipalities so wherever you live, odds are that you can get access to the resources you need. Additionally, any York employee or student can get a Toronto Public Libraries (TPL) card for free--just bring proof that you currently work or study at York to any Toronto branch library.
